AIM

The aim of the ACE Journal of Addiction (ACEJA) is to serve as a comprehensive, peer-reviewed forum for disseminating up-to-date research, policy analysis, and clinical knowledge on addiction and mental health, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between researchers, clinicians, educators, and policymakers to advance the understanding, prevention, and treatment of addictive disorders worldwide.

Objectives

• To publish high-quality original research, reviews, and case studies examining the etiology, pathophysiology, and epidemiology of substance use and addictive behaviors.
• To provide a platform for interdisciplinary scholarship spanning psychology, psychiatry, sociology, anthropology, criminology, and public health as they relate to addiction.
• To promote evidence-based approaches to addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery, including rehabilitation and dual diagnosis management.
• To advance knowledge on emerging and underrepresented areas such as behavioral addictions (e.g., computer and sexual addiction), substance use in pregnancy, and addiction-related child abuse.
• To support the development of sound drug education, prevention, and public health policy through rigorous scholarship.
• To address the ethical, legal, and liability dimensions of addiction treatment and research.
• To facilitate the translation of research findings into clinical and nursing practice through human translational studies and applied addictions nursing scholarship.
• To contribute to the historical and social understanding of addiction, situating current research within its broader psychosocial and historical context.
